Gary
Larkin has been a practicing special education teacher at the middle
and high school levels for over 20 years. He holds an M.A in Counseling
Psychology and an M.S in Special Education. Gary also teaches a class
on "Mainstreaming" in the teacher credential program of
a private university in the greater Los Angeles area, and is an expert
on Special Education Law, Classroom Modifications, Program Accommodations
and Learning Disabilities. He also has a private Educational Therapy
practice in which he provides educational therapy, such as Digital
Auditory Aerobics, which is based on the Berard Method, consults
with schools on ways to best serve the special needs child in the
general education classroom, and acts as an advocate for these children
and their families at IEP meetings. Gary is also a licensed Marriage
Family Therapist Lic. # MFC 41009, specializing in working with special
needs children and their families. He is currently writing a book
to assist these families in accessing the necessary services, self-help,
and support. Gary is also the father of a adult son with Autism.
